One of clients within the F&B Purchasing industry are hiring a NHS Category Buyer to join their team
Key Accountabilities
As a NHSSC Category Buyer, you will manage the entire end to end procurement process for your category on behalf of NHS Supply Chain: Food.
You will manage all category supplier relationships, engage and support a wide range of stakeholders and execute best sourcing procurement processes in accordance with the Public Contract Regulations 2015/Procurement Act 2023.
You will manage all stages of the NHSSC: Food Procurement Framework from strategy definition and creation to the tendering process and launch, all the way through to supplier relationship management and continuous improvement.
You will contribute to the team’s continued success by building and implementing market leading and innovative category strategies that enables NHS Supply Chain: Food to optimise its buying power across all markets, building insight for negotiations and market knowledge and conducting industry analysis to support business stakeholders with commercial understanding of the market place within a highly progressive and fast paced environment.
You will be passionate about your category and motivated to ensure that we meet our team targets and KPI’s to deliver value to our client and drive savings for the NHS, whilst also ensuring they deliver growth to their supplier partners through engagement and performance management.
You will be a great communicator who will be able to develop strong relationships with all stakeholders and be able to work cross functionally to ensure we deliver for our client.

Essential Skills
Proven track record of working in a field-based role within the food and drink industry
Confident, tenacious and self-motivated
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Passionate to exceed expectations and delver great service to customers
Good IT skills including excel, word and power-point
UK driving licence
Learning & Development Requirements
Systems (Cognos, OEC, Jaggaer, PRDB)
Understanding of Public Procurement regulations

Location / Equipment Requirements
Full time (5 day per week) office-based position located in Chertsey/Normanton/Chester based on your home location with some travel to UK based sites and offices required
